So we have made more progress on our yard this past weekend.

Devin got the grass seed on the yard about a week and a half ago. We have to water it like crazy to keep it moist. It is like a suspenseful waiting/guessing game to see if we did a good enough job with prepping the soil and seeding it. I reallyyy hope it works but if not, we will keep on trying.

Next week we are adding 10 tall trees at the top where the sign is located in this picture. We are adding them for privacy because there is a large window in our house along the street that everyone in our neighborhood likes to look into when they pass by.

We put up sticks with rope to keep people off our yard so the grass can grow. One thing I have found living on this corner is that people like to walk all over our yard. It drives me nuts. Even with the sticks and rope we put up some people still don't get it! I'm crazy I know!

We planted our plants on the walk way leading up to our door. We just have to put some nice dirt on top to make it look pretty (this yard is so full of rocks and weeds. It has been a long process trying to get rid of all the crap). We are thinking next spring we will get 2 skinny trees to stager in with these plants as well so they can scale up the house and add more dimension.
Dev worked really hard on this retaining wall. We are really hoping that it stays put and makes a nice line for the grass to stop at. Next spring we will also plant some plants in between the wood and the rocks so it's not so awkward there.

It's really coming along. We have had a lot of neighbors tell us how fun it has been to watch us transform the yard. We are the first home in the neighborhood so it gets a lot of attention. I hope we can make it look nice. We have taken a lot of pride in it so far. I have learned that I like to design and know what I want, but I don't have the patience to watch it slowly come together. I like it to happen instantly. It has been a good learning process for me and I know Dev has had a lot of fun working on it. Can't wait to share more photos.
