the 4th weekend

Since the 4th was on Sunday this year Idaho celebrates the whole weekend. On the 2nd my whole family came to town and we went to a place called the "riot zone" which has tons of outdoor games. All the grown ups did go-carts, I was laughing so hard the whole time I could barely drive. My family is a riot. After we played all evening long we watched a mini firework show that Rigby put on.

Why I put pictures of me all haggard looking I don't know...let me remind you I work every morning at 3 am so beautifying is last priority lately.

all the grown ups cheering on the little cousins playing

some of my family being silly...dev hates this picture because he said he was trying to look silly but ended up looking like he was trying to be serious and dumb looking.

The 3rd was the big big celebration in Idaho Falls. My uncle Adam thought it would be a good idea to get the whole family to run the firecracker 5 k. (not everyone is in the picture) but we all showed up at 630 to run the race. For some reason it was soo cold the morning of the race Dev even had to borrow Emma's sweat shirt..um too small.
2 of my cousins, my uncle, and Dev even got on the news while running!!
My grandparents and all the little kids found a spot on the sidewalk to watch us run and to get a spot for the big parade afterward where they had doughnuts and orange juice waiting for us after too.
My aunts had finished the race and realized Heidi hadn't finished yet so they went and ran her to the finish line. I love all my aunts they are so great.
We got cool shirts from the race and some of my family members even got metals for their fast running times.

My uncle who got us all to race also decided to give out prizes with funny different awards within our family. Dev got cutest running face with a coldstone gift card and I got best running outfit with a jamba gift card.
When we looked up our time results one of my cousins got 8th out of the whole race...there were 800 people signed up! My other aunt got 2nd in her age division. Needless to say, we felt pretty good about ourselves, ha.

The parade was a lot of fun. I loved this car and wanted to steal it to match my kitchen aid! One of my cousins was also in the parade.

This is when I become a bad photographer and do not document the rest of the weekend. After the parade we had a huge bbq with amazing food due to my aunts cooking skills.
That night we went to an awesome firework show (in fact the best on the west side they say) http://blog.ratestogo.com/best-4th-july-fireworks/. The next day we went to a camp ground with some friends and let off fireworks.

I love this country. The older I get the more I come to appreciate living in the best country in the world. I am grateful for all my freedoms and feel so blessed to live in such an amazing place.
