This Thanksgiving we stayed in Idaho. My whole family including extended decided to all come into town, my aunt Heidi just got a new home so we all had a big party over there. It is a beautiful home and it was fun with all 31 of us over. I'm so terrible at taking pictures and didn't get pictures of everyone sorry fam. Everything was completely homemade and so delicious. My grandpa treated all of us to A Christmas Carol in 3-D, my cousins are hilarious in their little glasses. Later that night all the girls whipped out the ads and we made lists of what we were gonna black Friday shop for. They are are so crazy we had a ball. Hope your Thanksgiving was as good as mine!

My mom is in town today, dev my mom and i were on our way to my aunt's house when we were at a red light and saw a girl in her mid-twenties on the side of the road with a homeless sign about 5 cars up and 2 lanes over. My mom handed me a 20 dollar bill and told me to hurry and run it to the girl. A little shocked, I hurried and ran out of the car and handed it to her. When I got back in the car, all of a sudden people started getting out of their cars and walking up to her and handing her money...cars in front of us, and cars behind us...so many cars. Aren't moms way good at teaching lessons? my mom did today.. on how to give.

im working on some projects for christmas and came across a few favorites. i had to share some.

starting my thankful list

mr. fix-it. This is him de-clogging my kitchen sink after i put lots of carrot and potato peelings down the drain and then frantically called him home from work to fix it before my sink would over flow with water.

an old high school friend e-mailed me the other day saying she needed to do an interview on marriage for one of her classes at Gonzaga. I was surprised how those questions really had me reflect on the decision I made to marry Devin. it was the greatest thing i ever did.

i couldn't resist posting this because for one its HILARIOUS 2 i think it fits perfectly with thanksgiving coming up 3 it put things in great perspective for me

cant believe this happened

can i tell you another story that happened to me today....
i will because it was one of the most random things to happen to me i about died after it happened. i will spare you every little detail and give you the main ideas

i was leaving my religion class and waiting outside for dev to pick me up when one of the kids from my class came up to me and asked if i had been in one of his classes because i looked really familiar. i told him no i hadn't but he looked familiar too.
we got to chatting about where we were from blah blah blah for like 5 min. and some other stuff and then

"well i don't know what you are doing after thanksgiving break or if you are seeing anyone... but i was wondering if you wanted to go out with me?"

my reply "umm actually i am see.. well actually im just married"

his reply "o wow i wasn't even looking at your ring, im so sorry" (red faced totally embarassed)

my reply "thats ok, ok ill see you in class, see ya "

AWKWARD. the poor guy its hard enough to ask a random girl out and then on top of that the dang girl is married.
i told dev about the story and the first thing he said was well was he cute?
i have been married for almost a year and haven't dated anyone else for over 2 years now... to say the least, i forgot boys even noticed me anymore.
so funny.

ok im sorry i have been posting so many of these... but lets face the facts they are so fun and cute. its all jens fault her comment made me do it. ha.

can i just tell you a funny story. its random but i don't care because i think its funny. sometimes dev and i like to tell each other funny stories of us when we were little kids. im sure you can tell we were both quite the characters. one time i told him how i tried to run away when i was like 6 because my mom wouldn't let me wear shorts outside when it was raining. and then he told me about a time when he decided he wanted to run away so he packed a pb&j, got a stick and wrapped his sandwich up in a towel and tied it to the stick... just like the movies, and then wondered around the forest in his back yard. seriously i role on the floor every time i make him tell me that story. one day i hope i have a cute little devin... minus the insane crazy boy side.

birthday

This weekend we celebrated one of our good friends Dani's birthday at red robin. Dev and I both knew her husband when we were growing up.. but the weird thing is Dev and I some how never knew each other. The more we are married the more people we find out we both knew but can't figure out how we never ran into each other. AnYWAy. Dani is such a sweet girl we have so much fun with this couple.

Britnae is my first friend pregnant! Ali my other friend threw a shower for her. I met both these girls back in high school through mutual friends and now all 3 of us are married and go to BYUI. Ali did such a good job with so many yummy things to eat and Brit looked so cute pregnant. so excited for your little boy to come Brit.

congrats

this is an exciting time for one of my best friends! today i got her adorable wedding invite in the mail! i was the first one of all of my closest friends to get married and all of devin's best friends are already married so i am so excited i get to finally share all the joys of married life with one of closest friends now!
she gets married in the kentucky temple this december. love you JAYME!

random

A story....
if you don't live in idaho in the winter...your lucky. dev and i usually only go to school in the spring and fall but we made a decision to sign up for "fast grad" at school which means our boogers will freeze and ill complain every morning about how my frozen door won't open and dev will get mad that our geo squeaks because its so cold, in other words we will go to school year around until we graduate. This was a hard decision for us but were more excited about it because we will graduate much earlier.

I made it a point the other night to really pray that I would get some scholarships and also that our neighbors 2 little kids who wake us up at 5 am screaming every morning wouldn't. The next day we woke up to no screaming! and on top of that I got a scholarship for the next 3 semesters! My prayers were answered almost instantly (vert rare thing).

The next night we didn't pray for the babies to be quiet... the next morning i woke up to dev yelling be quiet you little devil in diapers. I looked over at him making sure I heard him right and couldn't control my laughing.

I am excited we are staying here although I do miss my city back at home. I love that my extended family is here. They are so much fun and they spoil us so much, every single one of them gives us something to take home every time we leave one of their houses. I love how close we are to them. My family is so outgoing and I can talk to any of my aunts and grandparents about anything. They are always there for us and I feel their love for dev and I every time we see them. Love you family, love you dev!

I feel grateful tonight. happy november.

halloween

first halloween married. our costume this year was "guns and roses" dev was guns i was roses. we went to our friends house for chicken noodle soup, rootbeer, and doughtnuts... all HOMEMADE. seriously so good. then we went to a halloween party and came back with our friends to watch a scary movie and more doughtnuts and rootbeer.
