island park

this weekend my grandparents invited us to their new cabin in island park. it is a beautiful place. They took us on a ton of trails and we saw tons of wild life. That night they took us to west yellowstone and they bought us their favorite pizza and ice cream. We loved getting out of town and spending time with them.

my first camping experience

How could I have never gone camping before? Don't ask me. The closest time I have ever gone camping was through church activities like girls camp and the trek but never on my own free will. Thats why I suggested to Dev that we go camping. We took our good friends Dani and Danny with us to "Beaver dick" (nice name I know).
We bbq-ed zucchini, potatoes, and chicken, a bon fire followed with a few other friends we ran into there and after a few games. Can I just tell you I'm not an animal lover...at all. Most of you already know this. We all woke up at 4 am to probably 5 coyotes killing a rabbit, rooster crowing, and rats trying to enter our tents. I begged Devin to take me home right then but he said I needed to have the real camping experience. We ended up leaving still pretty early anyway .I liked it. Don't think I want to go back again for a while though.

summer lovin

after a long hard day at work (for devin) it was still 90 something degrees out with no ac in our house we decided to get outta there considering idaho in the summer has so many outdoor things to do. we packed chicken sandwhiches along with grilled zucchini and fruit and hiked "R" mountain... well not the whole way. it was so hot out i told devin i wouldn't make it up alive. As you can tell by the picture the sun was beating on our eyes.
So we decided to go to a park near by and eat there.
After we decided to do a little golfing. I'm really bad at it but we always talk about wanting to golf together. I love that Devin is patient in teaching me and never gets frustrated no matter how many times i miss the shot.

raspberry shortcake biscuits, homemade whip cream homemade biscuits, and freshly picked raspberries made by him. and he's all mineeee. too bad my video of him break dancing didn't upload... then you would be even more jealous.

definition of summer

my grandma brought me a huge bucket of these delicious raspberries straight from her backyard. i was so excited to get some this summer. it brought back a lot of memories of visiting her in the summers when i was growing up and picking them with her, and watching my mom and aunts make jam from her raspberries over the years.
now that im getting older im learning to embrace the little moments with my family... even grandma's raspberries.

vacation

finally back from our trip to crescent bar and seattle.
here are a few photos from the trip. i don't know why i didn't take more great pictures while we were there.
it was nice to relax and spend time with our families. devin's goal the whole 2 weeks was to grow a mustache but as you can see in a below picture with emma we ended up using mascara to darken the blonde barely there hair. i also got to go to my favorite ice cream shop RED MANGO. we did lots of shopping, and got to take some fun photos down town seattle with kristen (go to her blog on the right hand side where my links are she is great... more pictures to come from her later)
